    Source Text: This letter was written to MARTHA ANN [Gilmour] ALLISON's son JAMEST ERNEST GILMOUR, and a copy was given to me by her great grandson, ERNIE GILMOUR. The letter is as follows: Rico Mining & Milling Company General Offices, Los Angeles, Cal. 411 East 56th St. Los Angeles, Cal. July 22, 1916 Dear Ernest and Georgia, I recd your good letter of July 18 this P.M. and was so pleased to bear from you for I am allmost heartbroken over the loss of your Dear Mother and my little Sweetheart wife. She was such a good women and we allways got along so well together that I can scarcly realize why should be taken from me but we must all go when our time comes so I must be satisfied. No I did not send for you for the Dr had hopes of her recovery untill it was to late she had all the care that was possible to give her also the neighbors was so kind to us but because she became unconcious toward the last and just went to Sleep did not suffer in the least just sleep and never woke up passed away with a sweet smile on her face as the perfectly contented to go to meet Dear 'Nora'. "
