Starting from my g.g.grandparents Mike & Anna Zellhoefer of Jefferson County, Wisconsin, my earliest known ancestors in that branch, set me off to learn something more of them. Now 10 years later we've tracked that line back to Bavaria, and to what may have been the beginnings of that surname as "Zell" living in Zellhof near Gresten Austria during the 1500's.
