Jonathan was married at his death to Chloe Clark Walden, relic of Elisha Walden which interestingly enough makes him a bigamist. His will mentions only Lois and Joel. He and Martha had at least 4 children. It is through Lois and Joel, that we are related to Jonathan. The Census of 1790 (1 m > 16, 2 F) does not seem to support the presence of Martha and the other 4 children (ages 16, 14, 13, 5). If you need any more information, I probably have it. Trish

- Title: Pension Application
Text: His pension file notes that he enlisted:
1.Was living in Windham, CT, and enlisted in July 1776 and served five months as a private in Captain Fenton’s CT Company;
2.While living in Douglas, Worcester County, Massachusetts he served as a private for three months in Captain Samuel Read’s Company, Colonel Whitney’s Massachusetts Regiment (Jan 1777 till April 1777 );
3.He then entered into service at Douglas, Worcester County, Massachusetts in Captain Danforth’s Company of Colonel Nixon’s Regiment of General Nixon’s brigade and that he served in this corps for a t least nine months until 7 March 1779. He was discharged from service at Kings Bridge in New York.
Now, the above was provided by the National Archives to a researcher in 1951. His pension application in the 1820s does not have this level of detail. It does note that he recalls ensling in “Pomfre t, Connecticut in the company of Lt. or Ens. Gravenor, and he was marched to Skinsborough (White Hall). He and most of his company became very ill, were carried into the country until the end of his tour of duty. “
