Text: Jonathan died 16 April 1833 in Southington, Trumbull, Ohio. He was a revolutionary war pensioner. He was married to Martha Hayward (Howard) 15 Dec 1733 in Douglas, Worch, Mass. She was b 4 Aug 175
4 Mendon, Worch, Mass and died after 1833 Townsend Windham, Vt. She claimed the pension at his death as his first wife. She was living with one of her daughters in Townsend, Windam, VT at the time. Jonathan was married at his death to Chloe Clark Walden, relic of Elisha Walden which interestingly enough makes him a bigamist. His will mentions only Lois and Joel. He and Martha had at least 4 children. Daniel Mansfield b 13 Aug 1773 Douglas, Worch, Mass, Elizabeth Mansfield b 22 May 1776 Douglas, Worch, Mass, Susanne b 23 Dec 1777 Douglas Worch, Mass, Arminadab (m) b 29 Jul 1785, New Fane, Windam, Vt, m Fanny Prentice 10 Sept 1807, Watertown, Middlesex, Mass. He also fathered Lois Mansfield b 21 May 1786, probably Hartford, Wash, NY, married Joel Downs bef 1810 prob Hartford, and died 23 Dec 1872 Warren, Trumbull, Ohio. It is through Lois and Joel, that we are related to Jonathan. The Census of 1790 (1 m > 16, 2 F) does not seem to support the presence of Martha and the other 4 children (ages 16, 14, 13, 5). If you need any more information, I probably have it. Trish
