Dorset FARVES Project
This is an informal one-name study of all individuals in Dorset with the surname FARVES / FERVES / FERVIS / FERVICE / FARVAIS / VARVES / VERVES etc. So far , the name seems confined to the northern parts Dorset in and around Blackmore Vale eg Stalbridge , Holwell , Pulham , Lydlinch , Iwerne . My guess is that it originates with a single family arriving about 1600 . Typically , the family seems to be a farming one . All corrections or additions to the database are gratefully received .
