Note: The children listed for James and Elizabeth are those for whichrecords have been found. Family tradition has it that there wereat least two more children, Colby Cowherd, whose name repeatsthroughout family records as does Sarah. Colby married SarahRucker, and Sarah Cowherd married Peter Rucker son of ThomasRucker, immigrant from England in 1700. A Peter and Sarah Ruckerare recorded as selling land in Culpeper Co in 1775 and 1789 andare said to have moved to Mississippi.
