Notes
Individual:
Jerry reports that Walter helped to build the hiway from the United States to Alaska before Alaska was a state.
He also used to break wild horses that they got from Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska and the Dakotas. They would bring them home and sell them.
Jerry recalls living in an old school house that his dad fixed up in the early 50's by Woodbine. They would go to town on Saturday nights and while Irene was at the grocery store Walter would take the boys to the appliance store and they would watch wrestling on the black and white TV as they did not have one.
Walter had a Packard during the early 50's or late 40's on the way to work he got stuck in the snow, after it quit snowing the maintainer came and pulled them out of the snow bank. Jerry recalls that when the hood was lifted it was full of snow. Walter got in and the car started right up.
Walter is buried in the Logan cemetery sect. 5 row 2 there are at least five people in this area.
