Descendants of Amandus Babel
I started this research for my son-in-law, and for the benefit of his family.The file concerns the BABEL family, mainly of Guadalupe County, Texas, and their related branches, which includes the surnames DIETERT, ERBEN, GRIMM, HARBORTH, KNEUPPER, RAUCH and TSCHOEPE, among others. Of particular interest is the information concerning AMANDUS OSCAR "A.O." BABEL, who was recognized by the office of Texas Governor Rick Perry as a Texas Music Pioneer, "The Original Texas Cowboy Pianist". Information about his later life is sketchy, at best, and any information would be appreciated.As I stated, This is definitely a work in progress, and if anyone can add any information I would encourage them to contact me.
