Individual:
Information on Josiah and Elizabeth Key Daniel
I found the following in KINFOLKS OF GRANVILLE COUNTY, NC 1765-1826, compiled by Zae Hargett Gwynn, The Reprint Company, Pub. Spartenburg, SC.
Reprint of a 1974 edition published by Joseph Watson, Rocky Mount, NC, p. 240.
Deed Book 1 of Granville County, NC, p. 240
p. 159 ELIZABETH DANIEL, widow of JOSIAH DANIEL, sold land and personal property to her son, SAMUEL DANIEL, that she received under the will of her husband, Oct. 27, 1821.
. Page 159 ELIZABETH DANIEL deed of gift to her son, SAMUEL DANIEL, for all
her right to money in the hands of FANNY KEY and JOHN WHITE, representatives of her deceased father and mother, MARTIN KEY and ANN or NANCY KEY of Albemarle Co., VA, Jan. 13, 1822.
Isn't this proof that Josiah's wife was Elizabeth Key and not Elizabeth Jordan?
From the Granville website:
Daniel, Elizabeth to Josiah Brown of Person County [daughter Martha is the wife of Brown]. "...girl by the name of
Nell..." (Deed-1814, p. 412, book W)
