Text:
James came with his family to Johnston Co, North Carolina within the first five years of his live. The first notice of James was on July 22, 1762 when hewitnessed a deed of his parents to John Vinson of a tract on Neuse River. The Youngbloods were involved in the "Regulator War" that erupted in North Carolina and which foreshadowed the American Revolution. In April 1768, James and several other Youngbloods signed a petition protesting corruption and hightaxes. James was later a soldier in the American cause during the revolution, serving several hitches in the North Carolina militia and participated in the Battle of Camden on Aug 16, 1780. He was in the troups under Marjor General Richard Caswell who were scattered by the British and forced to take refuge in the swamps. James served in the Revolution with John Miles, Jr. He signed a deed 11 Jul 1762. Married Polly Bradley.
