Magdalen was the daughter of Col. Roger Tasker, a chancellor in Irleand, whose seat was Brommfiled Castle above Londonberry. Magdalen inherited the estate of "Moneen" in Ireland, which consisted of 600 Cunningham acres, with a fine mansion, located near the village of Strabane. Magdalen died in 1726 in Somerset County, Maryland. She had one sister, Barbara (Tasker) Keys, who remained in Ireland. The Polk family was of Presbyterian faith.
