Ira Markley is listed from at least 1903 until 1917 as living at 1502 3 rd Avenue in Greeley, CO.
He was employed as a laborer, an employee in a sugar factory, and a fa rmer.
On 7 January 1917, Ira D. Markley sued Augusta for divorce on the grou nds of desertion. The court ruled that she was guilty of desertion.
By 1920, Ira had left Greeley and was living in Delta with his broth er Mack

The 1930 census shows Ira living in Precinct 9, Delta County, C O. He is listed as living with his wife, Jane, and their daughter, Virgin ia Sower (?). Virginia is listed as being 13 years old and born in Montan a. It appears that Mack married a second wife and this was Mack's stepdau ghter.According to a 7 January 1917 newspaper article, Ira Markley was grant ed a divorce from Gusta Markley on the grounds of desertion. Gusta had ap parently deserted him, not the other way around.
