Obiturary--Mary Day WallaceMary Day was born September 6, 1842 and died April 4, 1920, aged 78 years
7 months and 4 days.In 1866 she was united in marriage to Nicholas Hood. To this union were born tow children, James Hood and Mrs. Will Dixon of Marshall. Mr. Hood died about 50 years ago.In 1872 she was married to J. C. Wallace. To this union were born four children, John, Joseph, Robert and Mrs. Atkinson. Robert preceded her in death in 1911. She united with the Baptist church at Freedon in 1888 and lived the life of a true Christian. She leaves besides the aged husband and children one sister, Mrs Ann Stricker of Dolson and two brothers Dan and William Day of Marshall and 17 grandchildren and one great grand child, besides a host of other relatives and friends. We miss thee from our home dear mother, we miss thee from thy place. A shadow o'er our life is cast, we miss thy shining face.Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Thuesday conducted by Rev. J.C. Craig and burial was in the Auburn Cemetery.
