[6958--FrankStrother.FTW]BGen, Surgeon, U.S. Army, from 1825; appointed Col. Asst. Surgeon Gen. 1 4Jun 1862, Union Army. He was sent to Louisville, Kentucky, in Oct 186 3where he spent the rest of the war. He died on active duty in 1869 wit hthe rank of Bvt. BGen. USA for his war service. Both sons served with the CSA.
