Notes for BENJAMIN WALLACE, SR.:From "Blount County TN Deeds, Deed Book 1, 1795 - 1819, Thomas, 1990, entry #632 on p. 84: (472-73) Benjamin Wallace, Sr. to Jacob Niman: 6 May 1816, 27 Jan 1818, $200, 68 ac on waters of Crooked Creek, part of a tract granted by state to Wallace and granted and held by right of occupancy and preemption, corner to original survey of Jacob Nimon and Henry Thomas. Sig: Ben Wallace. Wit: Edward Buchannan, Ben Wallace, Jr. Per Blance Matlock as submitted in the "Wallace Connections" Vol. 1 No. 3 Spring 1989, David B. Wallace was born in Mecklenberg Co. NC "as his father ... owned a great deal of land there". "The Wallace family moved to Blount County, Tennessee in the 1800's as Benjamin and David B. were both on the court of records as jurists there."
