Information on The Travis family was supplied with the help of the following people. Sueann Martin, Ramona Ca. Brenda Underdown, Marion, KentuckyGeorge D. Travis joined the Kentucky Cavalry, 17 Regiment, Company D on the 24th of August 1864. He served for 1 year as a Saddler for Capt. James N .. Liles. His discharge papers were dated 1867.
