Individual:
While growing up our Grandma White (Kate E Forbes) and our Great Uncle Walter (Walter Forbes) never mentioned Mertie still being alive. Grandma White's grandchildren Charlene and Millie White as well as her great-granddaughter Brenda Dye were not aware of her existence. We were all lead to believe that Mertie was deceased.
However, when Kate E was in Kern General Hospital dying, Mertie and her husband Guy Davis came to visit her. What was said between them is unknown. Why we were never told about or saw our Auntie Mertie we may never know.
Lewis (Charlene's father) and Leo (Millie's father) talked about their Auntie Mertie and Auntie Lulee (Lulu Forbes White) all the time.
What could have happened between them that would have caused them not to talk to each other anymore? We may never know. . .
