Individual:
The 1905/06 Keene, NH directory showsHarrie worked as a teamster for Spencer & Co. In 1925 they lived in Surry, NH, In the home on the Mill property that had been Harrisons. The house burned on the day before Thanksgiving, in 1939. Helen was busy cooking for the holiday, and sparks from the wood fired cook stove set the dry wood roof shingles on fire. They moved into a nearby farm, then known as the Holly farm.I, Peter D., still remember the Holly Farm, and watching Gramps light his pipe by picking up a live coal from the ash dump, with his bare fingers, and lighting his pipe with it! At some point in 1942, they moved to 46 Spruce St., Keene, NH; and in 1947 to 70 Woodburn St., Keene, NH. They moved to 32 High St., in about 1950 or '51. About the same time, Harrie had his first heart attack. The High st. house was a two flat, with Gram and Gramps living upstairs, and Stanley, and family living down stairs. When I was at Keene Teachers College, Fall of 1988 to Summer of 1961, I lived with them upstairs. Gramp died in 1960, and Gram moved in with Nancy, and Wayne, at their home in Milford,NH, in 1965.Notes
