"Young Matron, Mother of Six, Dies Yesterday"
Mrs. Jack Johnson, 41, of Mineral Hills, died at 3:30 a.m. yesterday at Stambaugh General Hospital where she had undergone emergency gallbladder surgery six days before.
The former Nellie Mae Jenkins was born in Ishpeming Oct. 27, 1913, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jenkins. She married Mr. Johnson on Feb. 1, 1930.
She leaves her husband, six children: Mrs. William Nyquist, Iron River, Jack Jr., at home, William, with the U. S. Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Robert, in Korea with the U.S. Army, Pauline and David, at home. She also leaves her parents, three brothers, Richard, William and Robert, all of Flint, and two sisters, Mrs. Maryann Perkins, Flint, and Mrs. Eino Maki of Beechwood.
The remains may be viewed at the John's chapel after 2 p.m. today. Funeral services are set for Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's Methodist Church, Iron River, with the Rev. Woodrow Harris officiating. Burial will be made in Rest Haven Cemetery
