Text:
OLDEST WOMAN IN COUNTY DEAD
Mrs. Marinda Alderson, of Cairo, passed away Thursday Evening at 9:45.
Mrs. Marinda Alderson, problbly the oldest woman in Henderson County, died Thursday evening at 9:45 o'clock at her home in Cairo, after an illness of several days. She was ninety-three years of age and until a few weeks ago she was hearty, being able to do most of her housework. She was born near Shelbyville, Kentucky, July 24, 1815, and lived in the town of Cairo nearly all of her life.
Mrs. Alderson is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a score or more of great-great-grandchildren. For many years her home was a pleasant place for visitors, and until the past three or four years nearly all the social gatherings in that vicinity were held there especially in summer, for the large lawn in front of her residence was not only adaptable to such occasions but the aged woman always took pleasure in having young people gather about her.
The Rev. A.A. Niles of this city, will conduct the funeral services at Cairo this (Friday) after at 3 o'clock and theinterment will be at the family burying ground in Cairo.
