Feb. 21, 1880 "Minneapolis Independent," newspaper Center, Concord, Cllings section: "Grandfather Morris is very ill and not expected to recover. He is upward of 80 years of age" obit. Minneapolis Independent" newspaper for Ottawa co KS. March 6, 1880 p.8 "Mr. John Morris, the father of Mrs Noah Boss, died on the 28th day of February, age 84 years. His remains were taken to Salina for internment at Gypsum cemetery.. Mr. Morris was an old settler, a member of the Baptist church for the past 40 years, a zealous christian, a good citizen and neighbor.
