Individual:
Tidewater Virginia Families by Virginia L. H. Davis (pub 1989) . Married John Crew and she and her husband sued her mother for her share of her father, Nicholas Gatley's estate in February 1689. Sarah and John were both under age and Sarah's mother (also Sarah) had married twice after the death of Nicholas Gatley (before 1685). She married John Smith and then William Morris but both were dead. The court awarded Sarah and John 4605 pounds of tobacco on March 3, 1690. Sarah was born abt 1665 in CCC, married John Crew abt 1685 and died in CCC
*Note: Some records show him with a first wife, Catherine ?, but since John and Sarah were married when the suit was started in Feb. 1689 and were both underage, Catherine could not be a first wife. The children usually listed for Catherine were born 1694-1700, the children for Sarah 1705-1718. I feel they were all Sarah's children. Need research to check this out.
