Emigrated as a young girl. Her father died on the voyage from Ireland and was buried at sea. 1860 Poor Book Lists Denis Galvin and Johanna Casey living in Belle Plaine, Scott County, Minnesota. 1860 Census lists them in Washington Lake, Sibley County, Minnesota. 1865 Dennis was drafted to service in the war, but the war was over before he saw any action. In the 1870 census, the family was listed as "Gallivan" in Washington Lake, Sibley County. They left Sibley County for better farm land in Wright County and homesteaded in Montrose, Minnesota. 1880 Census lists them living in Marysville, Wright County, Minnesota as farmers. 1900 They moved to Waverly. Census lists them as living in Marysville, Wright Co. Johanna died of cancer in 1912 and Dennis died in 1914. They were buried in the Assumption Cemetery. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
