Individual:
Napoleon Lafayette Pace served with the 41st Mississippi Infantry during the Civil War. During part of the Civil War the 41st was affiliated with Sharp's Brigade (Commander Jacob H. Sharp, commanding) along with the 7th, 9th, 10th, and 44th Mississippi and the 9th Battalion, Mississippi Sharpshooters. The 41st was under Capt. Spooner when it was aligned under Hill's Division, Maj. Gen. Daniel H. Hill, commanding. Later in the war, Sharp's Brigade, consisting of the 24th Alabama, 8th Mississippi (consolidated 5th, 8th, and 32nd Mississippi and 3rd Mississippi Battalion), 9th Mississippi (consolidated 9th Battalion, 7th, 9th, 10th Mississippi), Col. William C. Richards, commanding.
