Individual:
In his book 12 Generations of Farleys, Jesse Kelso Farley list the second wife of Francis Sr as Elizabeth Crostic of North Carolina. He gives no source for this bit of information. Personally, I think her name was Elizabeth Bostic, and she was probably from Monroe County, WV where Francis was living at the time. Bostic was a common name found in that area, and there is no evidence that Francis Farley Sr ever ventured into North Carolina.
Records exist that prove there were at least two other Francis Farley's living in this time frame and in the state of Virginia. One Francis Farley died in 1730 Goochland County, Virginia; Will Book 1 page 269 in which he names sons, Francis and John Simon Farley. It was this Francis Farley who bought 26,000 acres of land in North Carolina from William Byrd, and he is most likely the Francis Farley, who married Elizabeth Crostic.
