Mary (Polly) Farley, the daughter of Francis Jr and Nancy Blankenship Farley, was born 1763. She married Samuel Pack born 1760 died 1853. They were among the first settlers in the New River Valley and are recorded as being among the most thifty in all the region west of the Alleghenies. They owned a large part of the most fertile lands along the New River from the mouth of Greenbrier to Warford on the east side of the river and some of the bottoms on the western side, including the lands around the mouth of Blueston River. Historians agree that Samuel and Mary had 7 sons and 3 daughters as follows; John, Matthew, Samuel Augustus, Lowe, Bartley, William and Anderson. The girls Besty, who married Jacob Dickinson, Polly who married Joe Lively and Jennie who married Jonah Morris. Mary lived to be 105 years old

Olivia Farley Anderson says that Mary Farley was the daughter of Francis Sr and his second wife Elizabeth Crostic.
