Individual:
In his book 12 Generations of Farley's, Jesse Kelso Farley says that Francis was born 1726 died 1829 at the age of 103. This is clearly in error as there are records that prove he was alive as late as 1833. I feel he was more likely born around 1738.
Court Records in White County, Ill. The County Commissioner Court appointed Francis' sons Edward and Adam to provide for him. That reads as follows: Whereas it is represented to this court that Francis Farley is old and infirm and entirely unable to provide for his support, it is ordered by the Court that Edward Farley and Adam Farley, sons of the aforesaid Francis Farley, promptly and without delay make provisions for the comfortable maintence of their said father.
Edward died 1833 before his father, and Adam either died or moved to Iowa. Then in September 1833, the court appoint several of Francis Farley Jr.'s grand children to take care of him.
At a County Commisioners Court held at the Courthouse in Carmi, White County, Illinois, on Monday the 9th of September 1833 ordered that Drury Farley, (this Drury was the son of Edward Farley) Frances McMullen, Wilkason McMullen, John Edmunson, Silvester Farley, and Silas Farley, John Farley, John Clenndin be and they are hereby required to provide for the maintain comfortably one Francis Farley, their grandfather, who is infirm from old age and unable tp provide for his sustenance, and they are nowist to fail under penalty of the law and it is futher ordered that the sheriff notify each of the persons herein named of the pendency of this order.
This wonderful piece of information was given to me by Olivia Farley Anderson, and it pretty well proves that the dates in Jesse Kelso Farley's book are clearly wrong. Jesse Farley also says that Francis Farley married Nancy Blankenship, but deeds prove that her name was Annie Blankenship, not Nancy.

Francis Farley Jr, the father of Drewry Farley Sr, was born in Chesterfield County, VA 1726. He died at Shawnee Town in the Southeastern corner of Illinois 1829 at the extreme age of 103.
Francis Farley Jr. married Nancy Blackenship (Deeds in Monroe County list his wife as Annie) the sister of Drewry Blankenship, the famous Indian scott. Francis Jr and his brothers migrated with their father to the Blackwater River in BEDFORD County, now Franklin County, VA in 1740. They came later to the New River Settlement before the Revolution where Francis Jr patented a plantation of 300 acres on Indian Creek in present day Monroe County. It is presumed that he moved from this farm to the state of Illinois.
The children of Francis Jr and Nancy Blankship Farley are as follows: Edward, Francis III, Drewry, Gideon, Adam, Nancy, Mary, and Joanna. Adam married Caty Boyd, one of the many Monroe Boyds in Monroe County in 1807. Edward married Lettie McMullen 1791.
