Individual:
The affidavit of Sarah S. Mills accompanying the letter of SNB dated 18 Sept 97is very interesting. It was executed on 5 Dec 07, and she gives her age as 53, which would tie roughly to the 1860 Census. The affidavit is on behalf of Evaline Elizabeth Morris, the widow of James Madison Morris, who is applying for a Civil War survivor's pension. Sarah states, " Claimant lived with my mother and grandmother from her childhood until her marriage with the soldier..." Her mother would be Nancy (Valentine) Fox, and her grandmother would be Nancy(Neely)McCrory-Valentine.
