Thomas' birth date is calculated from his age at immigration.
Sarah Tynkler, aged 15, with Thomas King, 21, and others appears on alist made 17 June 1635 of passengers to be transported to New England onthe "Blessing".
Douglas Richardson builds a case for the marriage of Sarah Tinker andThomas King, although no marriage record has been found. First, theimmigration record and the church records of Scituate place them togetherat the right time. A variety of sources give the first wife of ThomasKing as Sarah (___). Frederick James Libbie, "A Tinker Family" (Boston1900) pp. 3-4 suggests that Thomas King's wife was the sister of JohnTinker, and that their widowed mother might be found in the Scituatearea. And finally, Thomas and Sarah named their eldest child Rhoda, arather unusual name which is the name of Sarah Tinker's oldest sister.
Thomas King was admitted to the church at Scituate 25 February 1637/1638.Thomas was chosen to succeed Elder Hatch in the Second Church.
He died at Scituate 24 September 1691, aged about 78, and was buried inthe Quaker cemetery in the part of Scituate which is now Norwell.
The will of Thomas King was dated 30 June 1691, proved 16 March1691/1692. It names wife Anne, daughter Sarah Besbey, and grandsons Johnand Thomas Rogers. It gives the residue of the estate to son Thomas, andset his negro servant Roben free, giving him his bed and ?5.
