Individual:
Mary Lee WORTHINGTON is the mother of Frances May TOMLINSON. Mary is the daughter of Alice LUKENS and Timothy WORTHINGTON. Mary is named for Alice's sister Mary, who married John LEE, hence Mary Lee.
Mary Lee (Worthington) Tomlinson is the maternal grandmother to Ed, John, Nancy and Judy.
At the age of 19, Mary Lee (nee Worthington) Tomlinson, and her two-month old baby Frances May Tomlinson, left husband, father, Earl B. Tomlinson. They went to live with Mary's mother Alice May (nee LUKENS) Worthington and the family. Along with Aunts, Uncles and cousins, Grandmother Alice raised Frances while Mary worked in the factory of Leedom Mills and Grundy to support the family. Mary worked to support infant daughter Frances, motherless niec e Dorothy Coombs, and brother Elmer, still living at home.
Mary appears in the 1930 Bristol Census, living with her parents and family. The census identifies Mary as Widowed, when in fact her ex-husband Earl lived until 1954, confirmed by family records.
Mary Lee died at the age of 49 from Pneumonia, complications of Parkinson's. She had fallen years earlier in a grocery store and struck her head, believed to be a contributor to Parkinsons.
Mary Lee is buried in Bristol Cemetery, PA, and for years had no headstone. In the 1980's, when Frances transferred some real estate transactions, she purchased a headstone for her mother's burial site.
