Notes
Individual:
Louisa died of flu or pneumonia a few years after the death of her husband, Alfred. The children had to move in with three different families. One of these families was Valentine and Kezia McCollum, who had moved to Alabama from Greene County, Tennessee. I have a strong hunch, though I have no evidence to prove it yet, that Kezia might have been Louisa's sister. Kezia's maiden name was Stuart. She was born in Tennessee, as was Louisa Stuart Church. Greene County, Tennessee, was quite likely on the migration path Alfred Church took from Wilkes County, North Carolina, to Jackson County, Alabama. He might have met Louisa there.
