Individual:
According to grandson Norman Robert Pamment, in a letter of August 1996
, ....."Frederick Arthur drove the service cars carrying mail and passengers to early South Westland community before buying a farm in Whataroa and settling there......dying at age of 74."
The following text is believed to have come from a book about Arthur's P ass Stagecoaches:
"Only five rivers on the ninety-odd mile journey from Hokitika wer e bridged, leaving seven major crossings and many smaller fords. Managing the leather clutches and simple brakes of the old Studebaker and white 'service cars' after repeated immersion in water required a skilled driver. On reaching Franz Josef he had to transfer his mail to a packhorse and take it over the Weheka Hills to Fox Glacier."
Buried in Whataroa, in Plot no. 1 - 90 Cemetery block 4
