Notes
Individual:
The following is an excerpt from a document entitled "The Family of Jam
es Murdoch and Minnie Jane Murdoch (nee Healey) - handwritten by Millie Adamson on 25 March 1985." - - "There there was me, Millicent Elizabeth (Millie) (I was the small one of the family). I worked in hospital in Hokitika and Greymouth. Married to William Robert Adamson and went to live in Whataroa where Willie ran a farm. It was a busy life, and everyone passing the house stopped for a chat and a cuppa. I fed them all, from the Archbishop of New Zealand to the chimney sweep. I played the piano, only a little bit. My main entertainment was the Country's Women's Institute (CWI). I entered for all the competitions and played many parts in their concerts and dances. I have been a CWI member for 50 years and enjoyed every minute of it. I was on the farm for 41 years, and when Willie died, I bought a house in Greymouth and have lived there for 20 years. The house is now "on the market" and I have decided to go into Tasman Home where I am now residing."
