According to this source, Robert FRENCH and his first wife, Mary Willis, had at least the fo llowing children: 1. Willis, b. abt. 1745; 2. David, b. abt. 6 Feb 1747, d. 10 Oct 1838; 3. Naomi or Elsa, who married Joshua Jeffers or Jefferies (she was his second wife and supposedly had no children, but he had nine children by his first wife); and 4. Robert Jr., b. 1752, d. 28 Feb 1830, m. Rachel DREW, probable widow of David OSBORN. Also, according to this source, Robert FRENCH and his second wife, Joanna OSBORN, had the following children: 5. Anderson, b. 25 Oct 1763, d. May 1844 in New York City; 6. Aaron?, whose parentage has not been proven to the satisfaction of this source; 7. Joseph P., b. 25 Dec 1767, d. ca 1802, m. Anna ROBERTSON; 8. Rebecca, b. 12 May 1771, m. Joseph HORTON; 9. Philemon E., b. Oct 1773, d. 7 Jul 1858.

Honeyman, A. Van Doren, History of Union County, New Jersey--1664-1923, New York, NY: Lewis H istorical Publishing Company, Inc., 1923, vol. 3, p. 178: Robert (1) French, son of Richard French, born on the homestead in 1724, died March 15, 1813, at the age of eighty-nine years. His will is on record in files of the Burlington county court house. Date of the will is the year 1811, but month and day at this writing are not known. He was likewise buried on the family homestead. This Robert French married Mary Willis, daughter of Joseph Willis, a blacksmith of Rahway, New Jersey, February 26, 1753, and they had four sons: Robert (2), David, Anderson and Willis. There is no record of his wife's death.
