Born in New Jersey. This is the Richard that Dick French thinks is his connection to the Fr ench family.
They are listed as throught the Cochran and French famlies of the west. I have found informa tion connecting them to the Cochran families, also.
From e-mail of Dec. 2003. Dick French thinks that the third great grandfather Richard Frenc h, father of Richard and Moses of Walpack, Sussex et al is the son / maybe grandson of Richard b. 1717 near Springfield. This gentleman is the son of Richard French b. 1670, brother to Robert of Springfield & son of John at Woodbridge. This would explain the close DNA id Aaron who marries Mary Myers is Roberts son; and the apparent connection to Thomas French.
Death date from Dick French is about 1797 as his widow Selletje remarried to Mr. William Lew is 1797 (Zion Church records).
