Most records spell her name as Catharine rather than Catherine. The 1880 census of Catherine' s son Oliver indicates his mother was born in Kentucky. All other records report Ohio. The 1880 census of Green Township, Hamilton County OH lists the widow Catharine Emmons, parents born in Pennsylvania, and son Thomas. Four Cincinnati city directories list her as a widow in 1875 (h. 49 Worth, Pendleton), 1885 (h. Delta Station, 1st Ward), 1886 (h. Wooster Pike, Columbia) and 1889 (h. 35 Worth, Pendleton). The last identifies her as a widow of Lawrence. Cornelius Quick, born 1805, of Boone County, Kentucky, was reported to be a son of John and Katie Quick, so he is probably Catharine's brother.
