Title: Antiquities of the Jews Author: Flavius Josephus Publication: http://www.interhack.net /projects/library/antiquities-jews : Book I, Chapter 6 2. ...For of the four sons of Ham, time has not at all hurt the name of Chus; for the Ethiopians, over whom he reigned, are even at this day, both by themselves and by all men in Asia, called Chusites.

Title: Book of Jasher (Pseudepigrapha) Author: The Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha Publication : http://www.ccel.org/a/anonymous/jasher/1.htm Text: [Book of Jasher Referred to in Joshua and Second Samuel. faithfully translated (1840) from the Original Hebrew into English. A Reprint of Photo Lithographic Reprint of Exact Edition Published by J.H. Parry & Co., Salt Lake City: 1887] Jasher 7:10 And these are the sons of Ham; Cush, Mitzraim, Phut and Canaan, four sons; and the sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raama and Satecha, and the sons of Raama were Sheba and Dedan. Jasher 7:23-24 And Cush the son of Ham, the son of Noah, took a wife in those days in his old age, and she bare a son, and they called his name Nimrod, saying, At that time the sons of men again began to rebel and transgress against God, and the child grew up, and his father loved him exceedingly, for he was the son of his old age. And the garments of skin which God made for Adam and his wife, when they went out of the garden, were given to Cush. Jasher 10:19 And the children of Ham were Cush, Mitzraim, Phut and Canaan according to their generation and cities.

Title: Navigating the Bible Publication: Note: Cush , Cushites Cush (Hebrew: 'black') was a grandson of Noah and the eldest son of Ham. He was the father of Nimrod. He is considered in Hebrew tradition to be the ancestor of the Cushites, who were a Negro tribe that settled below Egypt, possibly in Nubia, modern Sudan. The word is later treated as synonymous with Ethiopia, but modern scholarship suggests that the Cushites referred to in Genesis 10:8 were Cossaeans, living in the mountain region between Elam and Midia, rather than African Cushites.

Title: Everyone in the Bible Author: William P. Barker Publication: 1966 Note: Grandson of No ah, Cush was regarded as the ancestor of the Cushites, the Negro tribes south of Egypt. (Everyone in the Bible, by William P.Barker, 1966)

Title: Bible Believers Publication: www.biblebelievers.org.au Note: He is the ancestor of th e Goths and those in Ethiopia. Josephus writes: '??time has not at all hurt the name of Chus (i.e.Cush); for the Ethiopians over whom he reigned, are even at this day both by themselves and by all men in Asia, called Chusites.' The name of Cush is preserved in Egypt's hieroglyphic inscriptions as Kush, the name referring the country that lay between the second and third cataracts of the Nile. This same land was later known as Nubia. Additional confirmation of this location is given in an inscription of Esarhaddon of Assyria (681-668 B.C.), who tells us that he made himself king of 'Musur, Patorisi, and Cush'. Some assert that the name of Cush was also perpetuated in that of the Babylonian city of Kish, ostensibly one of the earliest cities to be built after the Flood.
