Emeline was daughter and heiress of Urso de ABBITOT. Her mother Adelise, as widow of Urso de ABBITOT gave lands and manors to her daughter's husband. Also Robert de ABBITOT, the Counquerors stewart, built Elmley Castle upon an eminence uder Bredon Hill, and dying without issue, the manor and castle descended to his brother Urso de ABBITOT, then to Urso' s daughter's husband Walter de BEAUCHAMP.
