Will of Sarah Bishope, 1722 - Prince George Co. VA.

In the Name of God, Amen. May the Eighth one thousand, seven hundred & ninteen. I Sarah Bishope of the parrish of Waynoke in the County of Prince George being of Sound and perfect sence and memory, praise be given to God for the Same do make, constitute, ordain and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following. First being Sorry from the Bottom of my heart for my Sins past, most humbly desireing forgiveness for the same, and for what worldly Estate it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I dispose thereof as followeth. First. I will that all my just Debts be punctually paid and satisfied. 2dly. I give and bequeath to my Son John Bishope, one Cow, one Great Iron Pott, one sett of Iron Wedges, one spade and 1 small table. 3dly. I give to my Son Henry Bishope, one featherbed, one Sheet, one Blanket and one pewter Dish. 4thly. I give to my Daughter Mary Potts one Ball mettle mortar and pestle. 5thly. I give to my Daughter Hannah Rives, one Small Desk, 1 small Box, one Flasket and Smoothing Iron. 6thly. I give to my Grandson Mason Bishope one Cow and 2 year old Heifer one small Iron pott and potthooks, two pewter dishes, one Chest with a Dutch Lock. 7thly. I give to my son James Bishope, one Long Table and Form, 1 great Chest, 1 pair of hand Irons, I Iron spitt and dripping pann, 2 pair of of pott racks, 2 pewter dishes and Tankard and all my Cattle and Hoggs, and one Iron Pott, I Iron kettle and all the remaining part of my Estate, in what nature or quantity and whatsoever it may be found after my Debts and Legacies justly paid. And Lastly I ordain and appoint my Son James Bishope Executor of this my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have set my hand and Seal the day and year first herein written.

At a Court held at Merchants Hope for Prince George County on the Second Tuesday in March, being the twelfth day of the said month Anno Dom: 1722. The above written Last Will and Testament of Sarah Bishope dec'ed. Was presented into Court by James Bishope her Executor, who made oath thereto, and it being proved by the oaths of William Harrison, Jerre. Warthen and John Bishope Jun'r. witnesses thereto, is by order of the Court truly recorded. And on the motion of the said James Bishope Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate of the said Will in due form.
