Note: stone mason------pierre had married first, about 1640, a personwhose name is unknown. In 1654, following the fall of portroyal, he and his family sought refuge in quebec. His first wifedied there, but he and his son remained for several years beforereturning to port royal. The 1671 census of port royal showspierre as a plowman having four arpents of cleared land. The1678 census shows him with his second wife, five sons and twodaughters, while the 1686 census shows him with wife, six sonsand three daughters. Pierre and Henriette were the parents often children, all born at port royal.
