Vol # 1, pages 429-431 (III) Jonathan Eaton, son of John Eaton (2), was b. in Dedham, MA, Sept. 3, 1681. He went to CT. in 1703, and bought land in Woodstock in the part now of Putnam, CT. He attended church in Woodstock until the establishment of a church at Killingly, Jan. 28, 1730, of which he was chosen the first deacon. He married the second daughter of Comfort and Mary Starr, of Dedham. Comfort Starr was the son of John and the grandson of Dr. Comfort Starr, of Dedham, MA. Abiah (Starr) Eaton was b. Feb. 8, 1687/8. Although her name was Abiah she was bapt. Lydia, Jun. 17, 1688. Her sister Mary Starr, married her husband's brother, William Eaton. Deacon Jonathan Eaton d. Jun. 25, 1748. Hi wife d. Mar. 4, 1751. The children of Deacon Jonathan and Abiah (Starr) Eaton, all recorded Woodstock, were: Lydia, b. Nov. 5, 1707, married Philemon Chandler; Keziah, b. May 24, 1710; Alice,b. Nov. 28, 1712; Susannah, b. Apr. 8, 1715; Jerusha, b. Apr. 16, 1717; Hannah, b. Aug. 17, 1719; Jonathan, b. Nov. 10, 1721; John, b. May 18, 1724, settled at Adams, MA; Penelope, b. Mar. 21, 1727; Comfort, b. Sept. 25, 1729; Marston, b. Oct 21, 1731, d. May 3, 1776, (see forward). The gravestone of Jonathan is at Putnam, CT.
