Marilynn Munoz Family File #6
These are the files of many families (over 143,000+ individuals). The Hull family originated from Connecticut with the first Hull immigrant George Hull who arrived in 1630. The Burr's also came from Connecticut and then moved to new Jersey and New York. The Whitlocks were also from Connecticut with John Whitlock being the earliest descendant (d.1659)that we can find. The Phelps line appears to have originated in Massachusetts. I can only go back as far as Philip Phelps (b.1755 d.1820) He married Catherine Moss in 1777 and the family lived in Blandford, MA. He is the top most Phelps we can find. We don't know where he came from. He was born in 1755 in either Blandford, MA or in Scotland (another rumor). He is a big mystery to the family along with his wife Catherine. The Hulls, Burrs, Whitlocks (and perhaps Phelps) all seemed to live in close proximity and did much marrying with each other. There are many Hull-Burr, Burr-Whitlock and Hull-Whitlock marriages. There are some Phelps in this line also, but research is being done on whether this is the Philip Phelps line. There are many other Connecticut lines in my GEDCOM also. There are Shermans, Sherwoods, Sillimans, Phippens, Pinkneys, Wakemans, Dimons and many other related lines all originating in Connecticut. These families have close ties with at least 12 US presidents and a vast array of royalty. I also have the Swiss line of Losle, Loosli, Losli, Heiniger and many others that has been traced back to the 15th century in Eriswil, Switzerland. My father Edwin F. Winick has a line going back to Finland and Sweden. They originated in The Pajala region, an area right on the border between the two countries, so that his father was Finnish and his mother was Swedish. His father's father was not named Winick, his original surname was Yliviinikka. His wife's name was Maria Erika Johanssdotter Kangas. We have info on her parents, John Erik Olofsson Kangas and Cecelia Olssdotter Lantto. We are still looking for information on Cecelia's ancestors. If you can help me with any information about these lines, feel free to contact me via email. Thanks! Marilynn
