A very kind and hardworking woman, and devoted mother of 10. She was always ready when anyone needed help and h and y making quilts which were raffled by the Women's Insti tute , for cigarettes for the troops in WW2. Greatly misse d afte r she died. Alice Gibbons was one of 17 children. She was born at Ottawa, ON. Her father was Henry Gibbons, her mother was Patience Manning. "My father Reg Scotney came to the Kola District in 190 9 t o teach at the Lippentott School. My sister Phyllis wa s bo rn in 1910 in a farmhouse near the school.
