Harry went to the Kola school and was in the first cla s s a t the Woodville District School in 1890, as were Char li e Jo hnson and Bessie Simpson - the first teacher was Mr . W ell s Thompson. In 1899 he played hockey with the Lippe ntot t ho ckey team along with his cousin David Lund, Willi am Mo ntgom ery and J. Harrison. Worked 2 years for CPR ou t of W innipe g where he met Alice, travelling to Brandon.
He returned to buy a farm near the original Lund homeste a d , on the Pipestone, then father Wes gave him part of t h e fa rm, section 32-10-29. Harry owned the first threshi n g machi ne in the area, powered by a George White stea m e n gine. I n 1921 he moved to the Fisher farm near Elkh or n , later own ed by Gordon Brennan, where he raised musk rat s , grew wil d r ce and made a straw-covered dugout fo r t h e animal s . Played violin with other musicians fo r ma n y dance s . A special f amily event would be to hitc h u p th e tea m an d democrat to v isit Alice's family i n Angu sville.
