Zilpha was of age to be a daughter of Jonathan Cole, or pos sibly a James Cole also in Sackville in the 1780s - t h e n am e is from the same Mass. area...

Just found another child of David Cole and Lavinia Throop. She is Zilpha Cole who married John Wheaton and Joseph Trenholm. Zilpha Trenholm, widow, born 16 March 1816, age 85 years, mother, was enumerated with Amanda Kay, nee Wheaton, in the 1901 census of Sackville, district 7, page 2.
"Mary Zelpah (Mrs. John Wheaton) 1818-? son William F . m . Miranda Trenholm"
There were several Zilpha Coles in the area at the time. P r obably all are descended from Martin Cole and Zilpha Alverson. Their daughter Zilpha b 1809 married Benjamin Towe r 182 6 and the Richard Lutes 1851. There were at least 2 g randch ildren named Zilpha; d/o Benjamin b 1829 and d/o Amb ros e b 1833. There were at least 2 marriages, one to Joh n Brig gs in 1846 and then yours to John Wheaton. The dat e for thi s one is unknown and Zilpha may have been born ar ound 181 4 as she was 37 in the 1851 census. The web site m entione d above suggested she was born in 1830. It would b e great i f someone could sort this out.
