Individual:
Very good hockey and baseball player in Elkhorn - played s o ftball in Elkhorn with his Uncle Earl in the 1930s. Wit h Q ueens Own Highlanders in WW2, lost his leg in France.
Walter Lund was born on Feb 11, 1911 and served in WW2 i n t he Army, was wounded and lost part of his leg. He marri ed a n English girl and they had 2 sons. They came back t o Canad a and were in Elkhorn once when I visited there an d I met t hem. The marriage broke down, they divorced and t he childre n went to live with a family in the area and too k that name . Walter then married the wife of his Uncle Wal ter Gibbons , Dorothy Haloski. Walter died in Nov 1972 in W innipeg . I am trying to trace his sons. I believe Doroth y is dea d also.

During w.w. 11, an "orphan ship" with Dennis William and L l oyd came to Canada from England. I have discovered thei r da d was named Lund. He died in Deer Lodge Hospital, he w as pe rhaps a soldier in England. Can you help? tressa17@ho tmail. com
