Sarah Varnum was born 14 April 1756. She married on 10 Dec 1794, William DOBLE. Bill Landers said she may have died 2/10/1794. Other sources say she died Nov. 7, 1844.
Bill Landers originally picked up Sarah as wife of William Doble in Buckfield, Oxford Co., ME., but there was confusion in "The History Of Buckfield, Maine" because Sarah's surname is listed there as Farnham. Bill was unable to trace them from Buckfield to a previous place of residence, and things stood at that point for over twenty years while he was moving around in the Navy & then into retirement back home in Tennessee. In 1998, he learned that Sarah's maiden name was Varnam and that she and William had come from Braintree, MA. He learned that the Varnams were originally from Dracutt, MA.
