Text: "Lived in Rochester for a time, where they had a cooperage; moved to Ontario, and settled on a farm near Ormond. They had eleven children, only one of whose names - Daniel - is known."
The above is extracted from Carney Genealogy, Gosnell Family (general), authored by Daniel Carney. (Jeff Gosnell Genealogy)
If Thomas Skuce indeed "lived in Rochester for a time, where they had a cooperage;" he most probably was of the same family as Charles Skuse and Francis N. Skuse. This Skuse family operated Skuse Cooperage in Rochester. James F. Gosnell, son of John Gallagher Gosnell and Katherine Skuse, herself the daughter of Francis N. Skuse, was vice president of Skuse Cooperage. Thomas Skuce b.1820 married Elizabeth Gosnell daughter of William and Mary (Sweetman) Gosnell.
