h in Menslage, Hanover, Germany.Sailed on the ship Olbers
From 1900 Census Records.

Robert Sandfort writes: Anna Maria was born at ten o clock in the morning in house number 17b on the Barlage farm in the small farm community of Hahlen near Menslage. She lived in the house of her birth until she emigrated with her parents October 4, 1836.

From 1900 Census: Can read, write and speak English. Mother of 7 children, 4 children living.

St. Louis Post Dispatch has an obituary for Anna Marie Spielman ne Sanford on 12-3-1903. A copy can be found in Robert Sandfort s book.

Robert Sandfort writes: On March 21, 1857, Herman Sandfort (through his daughter, Anna Maria, purchased a lot at 2017 North 13th Street in St. Louis for the sole, seperate and exclusive use of Anna Maria Sandfort Spielmann. While Anna Maria had all rights to rents, issues and profits from this property, Herman retained the right to sell it in fee simple. This appears to have been an attempt by Herman to provide housing for his daughter but totally excludes her husband from any consideration.

It was at this house that she and her husband lived the remainder of their lives. The estate of Anna Maria Sandfort Spielmann consisted solely of her house on the lot at 2017 North 13th Street.

Anna Maria s eldest daughter, Anna Maria Elise Blumeyer, was the executor of her estate.Page 156page 162pages 160 and 161
Robert Sandfort writes: They were married by Pastor Carl Ferdinand Wihlhelm Walther who was one of the leaders of the 1839 Saxon Lutheran Immigration and who was also one of the founders of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.

From the marriage record of 1845, entry #16: Date of Marriage: May 24. Bridegroom: Johan Heinrich Spielmann, son of Johann Friedrich Spielmann (2nd son), occupation, carpenter, from ENGTER, Province of Hanover. Bride: Anna Maria, Daughter of Heinrich Sandfort from St. Charles, MO, from Menslage, by Quackenbruck. Page 156
