James Family Tree
When Isaac and Eleanor James moved from Rowan Co., North Carolina after 1840, they made the Currie community in Gibson County, Tennessee their home. Isaac James, Sr. was born 22 June 1788 in Maryland, but moved into North Carolina where he met and married Eleanor Allen on 11 April 1815. They were charter members of Clear Creek Baptist Church and Isaac James, Sr. served as the first deacon. They were farmers by trade. They had seven children. Isaac and Eleanor served their community well. Beside raising their children, they raised two grandchildren when their mother died suddenly. Isaac died 7 January 1864. Eleanor died 31 July 1873. Both laid at rest in Clear Creek Cemetery in Currie, TN.
